Roma Numismatics Limited provides a free valuation service for whole collections as well as single coins, whether you are looking to sell or are simply looking to establish current market prices. For large or important private and institutional collections, as well as for individuals requiring valuations for probate or insurance purposes, we can provide a formal, written valuation including detailed information on the most recent sales of comparable items.
We also provide a free authentication service. Through in-house expertise and consultation with external specialists we can offer a considered opinion on the authenticity of coins submitted to us. Please note that we do not currently offer certification, and that any opinions provided are informal in nature. Although it is often possible to evaluate a coin by photograph alone, very often it will be necessary to examine the coin in person.
Visitors are always welcome to bring items for valuation to our Villiers Street office - values of single items or small collections can often be given immediately. Alternatively if you are unable to visit in person please email or post us clear images of the coin or item in question.
We do not charge for this service, however for appraisals requiring significant time or travel expense, we reserve the right to ask that reasonable costs be met by the client. In the event that a sale is arranged through Roma Numismatics Limited any such costs will be waived or reimbursed in full.
